With only 30 places left, you will have to register soon if you want to take part in this year’s Collaborations Workshop. The workshop will focus on interdisciplinary working: different domains coming together to form new research questions and solutions. The workshop takes place from 25-27 March 2015 in Oxford (register by Friday 20 March 2015).
Register at: https://www.software.ac.uk/cw15 and let your peers know.
Over 12 domains will be represented at the workshop, with representatives hailing from everywhere from Nature Publishing, the British Library, Mathworks and the Natural History Museums Imaging and Analysis Centre. If you want more information, read about the attendees and the topics they want to discuss.
There have been a number of exciting developments over the last few months. Andrew Hudson-Smith, Director of Centre of Spatial Analysis at UCL, will provide our keynote on his experience and tips for effective interdisciplinary working. There has been a push from our attendees for people to “Bring Your Own Data” (BYOD), with people already promising datasets from micro-CT and researcher software usage for use in the hackday. And we now have hackday prizes: iPad minis and Raspberry Pi 2 Kits are up for grabs.
The Collaborations Workshops is a three-day event which includes a workshop and hackday (sponsored by GitHub). It brings together researchers, software developers, managers, funders, publishers and more to collaborate, discuss ideas and learn about new topics from across domains. The first two days will be run as an unconference, with collaborative ideas sessions, discussion groups, demo sessions and a panel discussion. The final day is given over to a hackday where people can realise the ideas they’ve had during the workshop.
Thanks to our sponsors GitHub and Oxford e-Research Centre.
