The SeIUCCR project

Champion.jpgThe SeIUCCR project is a network of Community Champions who advocate the use of e-Infrastructures in their research.

Community Champions are trusted voices - respected scientists who use e-infrastructure. Leading by example, the Community Champions promote uptake of e-Infrastructures in their communities and remove the barriers that have been prevent its usage.

The project directly funds seven Community Champions, across the fields of the physical and engineering sciences, who act as a conduit between research communities and e-infrastructure providers.

SeIUCCR itself stands for Supporting e-Infrastructure Uptake through Community Champions for Research and is a collaboration between the Software Sustainability Institute (SSI) and the NGS. It was also funded by EPSRC until April 2013.

It also funds workshops and an annual summer school, as well as providing travel bursaries for the Champions to attend conferences and publicise the use of e-infrastructure.
