After finishing a Ph.D in the Systems Biology of Malaria at the University of Leeds, Thomas started software and data consultancy imactivate and has since joined the Open Data Institute Leeds as their first associate and head of the challenge team.
Thomas works on data collection using computer vision, such as The Little Car Counter and does consultancy and bespoke system development in this area, with clients in business and government.
He writes for various publications on industrial strategy in the UK and currently publishes and maintains software on the Web, on iOS, on Android, and on Windows 10, including top-rated photo management App PhotoMaps. The MetNetMaker.software he wrote during his PhD is still used all around the world to create small metabolic networks.
