Looking at the near future of scientific software technology

Posted by n.chuehong on 16 September 2014 - 12:25pm

The STFC's Software Outlook activity, funded by EPSRC as part of the Service Level Agreement between EPSRC and STFC, focuses on software technologies that are vitally important to the development and optimisation of world-leading scientific software.

This includes evaluation of new programming techniques that are essential for the timely and cost-effective exploitation of current and near-future High Performance Computing systems and demonstrating how specific software technologies can be applied to existing applications.

The Software Outlook website contains details of work done by the team at STFC investigating topics including Comparative debuggingPGASHybrid MPI and OpenMPHybrid MPI with shared memory, and Parallel I/O, as well as links to other useful websites.
