Bank of America Merrill Lynch to sponsor Software Carpentry Workshop for Women in Science and Engineering in Manchester

Posted by a.pawlik on 7 December 2015 - 2:16pm

We are very happy to announce that the first UK Software Carpentry Workshop for Women in Science and Engineering received generous support from Bank of America Merrill Lynch. The event will take place on 14-15 December at the University of Manchester.

The workshop will be fully hands-on and will cover basic concepts and tools, including program design, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. We will also host a panel discussion about increasing diversity and closing the gender gap in computing, science and engineering.

We are very grateful for the Bank of America Merrill Lynch support, and look forward to the event!
