My work
I am a computational scientist and research software engineer at STFC. Currently, I work on software for muon science.
I learned to code during my Physics degree, but it took working on large collaborative projects at STFC to understand how to write code that is actually sustainable! I’m keen to make sure future graduates and apprentices at STFC learn sustainable software techniques early on, so one of my fellowship goals is to establish formal training for each new intake.
I am also starting to advocate for accessibility in research software. During my fellowship, I plan to learn about accessibility issues in depth, and then work on developing best practice guidelines and workshops for the RSE community.
