Lucia Michielin

Edinburgh Carpentries Coordinator

Based in Edinburgh, Lucia has collaborated with the Software Sustainability Institute since February 2019 as a Software Sustainability Institute Consultant.

Lucia holds an MSc in Geotechnologies for Archaeology (Università degli Studi di Siena) and an MA in Classical Archaeology (Università degli Studi di Padova). Her PhD analysed the role of doors and windows within Ancient Rome's private houses. She has previously worked in commercial archaeology and has been involved in many survey and cultural heritage projects in Italy and Croatia, in cooperation with UK, US, and Italian universities and research centres.

She has served as instructor and helper on a series of Data and Software Carpentries in Edinburgh and Oxford and worked as pastry chef. She also plays rugby in the Scottish Premiership women's league.
