CW19 Prizes

It's not the winning, it's the taking part that counts! At the Institute we broadly agree with that sentiment, however there is nothing quite like competitions and prizes to liven things up.

Podium

CW19 Main workshop

For the workshop part of CW19 there will be a prize for each member of the team which comes up with the best collaborative idea from the collaborative ideas sessions. During the lunch and afternoon coffee break on the 2 April 2019, participants will get a chance to vote on what idea they thought was best (the ideas will be posted on poster boards in the form of one A4 page and you will each get three sticky dots to vote for your favourite one, two or three). The idea with the most votes wins - if there is a tie, CW19 organisers will decide who wins. The winning team will each get £30 of Amazon vouchers but must be there in person to collect their prize at the closing session of the workshop.

CW19 Hackday

For the hackday, we have some prizes that are themselves great to hack.

Each member of the winning team (up to a maximum of 6 people) will be awarded a Portable USB Monitor. There will also be a second place prize of Noise-cancelling headphones and a third place prize of International Charger Adapter with USB C Fast Charging (again up to a maximum of 6 people in the team). Members of the CW19 organising group will view presentations and demos from each team that registered on the evening of the 2 April and choose what in their opinion is the best hack according to the judging criteria. The judges decision is final and participants must stay until 5pm on Wednesday 3 April 2019 to be eligible to receive prizes.
