Dr. Godwin Yeboah is a Senior Research Software Engineer at the University of Warwick, with over a decade of experience in research and teaching. He is a key member of the Research Computing team within the Research Technology Platform, contributing significantly to interdisciplinary research across Digital Humanities, Geographic Information Science, Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Social Science, Geospatial Science, Citizen Science, Geomatic Engineering, Computational Science, and Sustainability Science.
In his current role, Dr. Yeboah collaborates with researchers in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, providing essential research software expertise, support, and training. His work encompasses developing new digital tools and enhancing existing platforms to ensure their sustainability and reliability.
Dr. Yeboah has contributed to numerous research projects funded by United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI), the European Commission, and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), among others. He has over 60 publications with more than 1,300 citations. He has played a pivotal role in organizing Research Software Engineering (RSE) Midlands Conferences, presenting on topics such as “RSEs in Digital Humanities,” and advocating for the formation of a Digital Humanities Research Software Engineers Community in the Midlands (DHRSEMidlands). Additionally, he contributed to the RSE Conference 2024 as a Session Chair and Reviewer.
As an elected board Trustee of the Society of Research Software Engineering, Dr. Yeboah leads Web and Infrastructure, serves as Vice Treasurer for Finance, and is a member of the Governance team. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and has held various roles in the Digital Geographies Research Group and the GIScience Research Group. His other notable roles include serving as a British Council UK Panel Member on Social Sciences (2015-2020) and as an Academic Track Scientific Committee Member for the State of the Map conferences (2023, 2020, 2019). He is a founding member of the RSE-Midlands Community and a conference co-organizer (2022 and 2024). Dr. Yeboah has received the prestigious Jack Dangermond International Awards (2020-2021) and is an Associate Editor of the ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information.
