Pao Corrales

Pao has a PhD in Atmospheric Science from the University of Buenos Aires. During her PhD, Paola applied data assimilation techniques to improve the representation of mesoscale convective systems and associated precipitation. She has experience working with Numerical Weather Prediction models and developing software using R and Fortran. She is also part of R-Ladies, a mentor at rOpenSci and part of the Board of Directors for The Carpentries. She is interested in open source, open science and reproducibility. She also develops openly licensed materials to teach and learn R, reproducibility for researchers and other tools. In 2025, Pao joined the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Weather of the 21st Century as a research software engineer supporting research and the development of high-resolution climate models.
