Applications open for Better Scientific Software (BSSw) Fellowship Program

Applications are now open for the 2021 Better Scientific Software (BSSw) Fellowship Program for researchers with US institutional affiliations.

Do you have a great idea on how to make scientific software better and want to share it with the community?  

The BSSw Fellowship Program fosters and promotes practices, processes and tools to improve developer productivity and software sustainability of scientific codes. Each BSSw Fellow will receive up to $25,000 for an activity that promotes better scientific software.  Applications are encouraged from all career stages, ranging from students through early-career, mid-career, and senior professionals.

Application Deadline

Applications for the 2021 Fellowships are open until Wednesday September 30 2020. 

Q&A Webinar

Those interested in applying are encouraged to participate in an informational fellowship webinar and Q&A session, scheduled for 4-5 PM EDT on Wednesday 9 September 2020.  Webinar details will be sent to the BSSw mailing list.

Requirements

  • Willingness to lead and advocate for practices, processes and tools to improve developer productivity and software sustainability for scientific codes

  • The Fellowship is open to researchers with US institutional affiliations.
