The Carpentries receives funding from Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and Chan Zuckerberg Initiative

The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) have agreed to provide $2.65 million (£2.07 million) in funding over three years to The Carpentries project.

The Carpentries will use the funding to:

  • scale and sustain The Carpentries Trainer Development programme (CZI, for three years)
  • build and maintain CarpentriesLabs:  platform for community creation, sharing and dissemination of open source curriculum (CZI, for 1.5 years)
  • create accessible resources to meet the needs and broaden engagement of The Carpentries’ diverse community (Moore, two years)
  • develop local community support and leadership (Moore, two years)
  • and to develop curricula for EukRef and UniEuk and eukaryotic genome analysis (Moore, two years)
