As part of his SSI Fellowship, 2026 Fellow André Piza is running a free online session, Creative Data Exchange, on 4 September, 10:00–12:00 (see your local time here). 

This is an event for experienced artists with little to no coding background who are curious about working with data. It includes demonstrations by experienced Research Software Engineers (RSEs) showcasing a wide range of data and code that can be used for creative projects. From AI for creative writing, computer vision using historical maps, machine learning for data investigations and more, come to explore possible collaborations and shape the next hands-on event with us.

The broader aim is to create a space for genuine knowledge exchange, where creatives and Digital Research Technical Professionals can learn from each other and explore new collaborations.

Attendees will also be invited to join the Alan Turing Institute's AI&Arts Group, an international community of over 600 researchers and creative practitioners.
