CW26 Satellite Events Announced

Belfast promises to be an exciting location for the Research Software community this April, as three events are taking place in the city, beginning with two satellite events ahead of the Software Sustainability Institute's flagship event: Collaborations Workshop 2026

Belfast is easy to get to, with Belfast and Dublin offering 179 direct European routes and 245 internationally. There are 21 direct UK flight routes to Belfast, as well as ample train and ferry options.

OSPARK Bootcamp

Thursday 23 April & Friday 24 April

Co-organised by OLS and DRA, the OSPARK Bootcamp aims to support open science ambassadors to create visibility for their open science initiatives through outreach and marketing. It consists of a 6-week interactive online course and a two-day in-person workshop.  The first OSPARK Bootcamp course will start on 5th March 2026 and the onsite workshop will be held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on 23-24 April 2026. Participation is free and a few travel stipends are available (Note - this is the week before collaborations workshop!). Back to the Fortran Future III

This time, we are delighted to partner with the Software Sustainability Institute's (SSI) Collaboration Workshop (CW), which will be held in Belfast from 28-30th April. Collaborations Workshop 2026

The SSI's annual Collaborations Workshop (CW) is an immersive, three-day unconference, which emphasises active collaborations, dynamic discussions, and hands-on problem-solving.

We are delighted to announce that Collaborations Workshop 2026 (CW26) will centre around one powerful theme and clear purpose: Strengthening the Research Software Community.
