DynamX Medical, founded in 2015, is looking for a qualified data scientist to help refine its algorithms as it moves towards commercialisation.

Software Sustainability Institute Fellow, Liberty Foreman, is the CEO of DynamX Medical.

The company uses spectroscopy (hardware agnostic) in combination with AI and machine learning (patent-protected algorithm) to provide simple point of care recognition of healthy and cancerous tissues. This screening approach will form one part of an integrated diagnostic strategy that the company is pursuing to enable earlier diagnosis of debilitating diseases. 

The role requires a post-graduate degree in data science/machine learning or a related discipline, or commercial experience developing novel statistical learning algorithms. 

The ideal candidate will must:

  • Have experience with spectral analysis/chemometrics, especially if in FTIR or Raman spectroscopy data.

  • Have a broad range of statistical analysis techniques: machine learning, support vector machines (regression and classification), supervised and unsupervised learning.Have advanced skills and experience using MATLAB

  • Be a proactive team player and comfortable in a fast-paced start-up environment.

A desirable candidate will also have experience in:

  • A range of programming languages such Python (SciPy, NumPy, Scikit-Learn and Pandas) and R
  • Object oriented programming.
  • Working with biochemical and medical data and/or developing statistical analysis plans for clinical trials
