Last call for SoundSoftware 2013 Workshop registrations

mixboard.jpgA final call for registrations has gone out for the SoundSoftware 2013 Workshop on Software and Data for Audio and Music Research, which is to take place on the 26th of June 2013, at Queen Mary university, London.

The event is intended for UK researchers in the audio and music fields, will take place between 10.30 and 17.00 and includes lunch, but registration will be required.

Of particular interest is a special Software Carpentry session which will demonstrate how better software development skills can improve music and audio research.

Other sessions of note include an introduction to the new British Library Labs iniative and how it will engage users with digital media collections, as well as using the Tunebot music search engine as a research tool.

Another project which will be outlined at is the BBC Desktop Jukebox which will allow direct online access to the BBC's extensive music archives.

Attendees will also be able to find out 'Ten reasons you must publish your source' alongside other sessions at the event covering open access, reproducible researcch and management of data, and more.
