Last day of the Research Software Camp: FAIR Software
Today marks the last day of the Research Software Camp: FAIR Software. Over the course of two weeks, we hosted talks and workshops which aimed to teach introductory skills, empower researchers with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop and maintain software and provide guidance and resources around the topic of FAIR software.
We thank all of our participants and contributors that made the Research Software Camp: FAIR software possible. It was great seeing new and old faces, and we hope you enjoyed taking part in the RSC as much as we did organising it.
Among the highlights of this Research Software Camp were the graduation of our 2023 Mentorship Programme cohort, the popular workshops in Spanish and Ukrainian, the Byte-Sized RSE sessions, and the panel discussion Approaches to the FAIR software principles: opportunities and barriers. This was chaired by Maria Cruz, Senior Policy Advisor at NWO (Dutch Research Council). Joining her in the discussion were:
- Rena Bakhshi, Programme Manager for the Natural Sciences and Engineering domain at the Netherlands e-Science Centre.
- Leyla Jael Castro, Team Leader Semantic Technologies at ZB Med.
- Tom Honeyman, Software Programme Manager, Australian Research Data Commons.
- Fotis E. Psomopoulos, Researcher at the Centre of Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH).
You can now watch the full recording of the panel discussion on our YouTube channel:
About the Research Software Camps
The Research Software Camps are hosted online over the course of two weeks, and they’re completely free to access. If you’re a researcher who uses software in research and have only started coding, you know how to code but would like to learn more, or have no idea where to begin or how to move forward with what you already know, the sessions and resources at the Camp are for you!
