It's difficult to choose software that's stable, reliable and does everything you need. Software catalogues have the potential to make life easier, because they provide access to software and information about it, such as comments on the software from other users. However, software catalogues are often domain specific, so it's difficult to find out about software outside of your own domain. We aim to change that!

The Software Sustainability Institute is putting together a list of software catalogues on our useful resources page, and we need your help. If you know of a software catalogue, please let us know.

Once we've got together a decent list of catalogues, we might even develop an uber-catalogue that provides one access point to software catalogues from all domains. Let us know if you'd like to help us with this project.
