With face-to-face training sessions not currently possible, staff from the Software Sustainability Institute have shared their guidance for running online training to help others move their training online.

The Institute already delivered some online training before the Covid-19 pandemic, but the number of these sessions and staff involved has increased in recent months. The new guidance is based on the lessons learned by Institute members, suggesting things to consider and actions to take before, during and after running an online training event.

Shoaib Sufi, Community Lead at the Software Sustainability Institute, said:

“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Institute has moved its computational training exclusively to online delivery. The guidance we have produced shares our advice to give others a head start on making this change.”
