New initiative 'SORSE' launched to help RSEs stay connected

Posted by j.laird on 1 July 2020 - 9:30am

SORSE logoA new initiative has been launched to help Research Software Engineers (RSEs) stay connected while many national RSE conferences have been cancelled due to COVID-19.

An international committee has organised SORSE - a Series of Online Research Software Events – to deliver weekly updates for RSEs to continue learning and collaborating.

The events will include talks, workshops, panels, poster sessions, software demos and more. RSEs and others involved in research software are invited to contribute their own content, as well as suggest the events they would like to see.

There is also a topic bazaar – a space to pitch and find collaborators for ideas that can then be presented as part of the series.

The call will be open continuously with rolling deadlines. The first deadline is 12 July, followed by deadlines at the end of each month.
