Liberate Science have launched an open access publishing platform, ResearchEquals, which focuses on publishing research step by step to document the research journey.

The platform, which launched last week, allows researchers to publish their process step by step, sharing the building blocks of research continuously and in chronological order, instead of publishing entire projects as papers. All research outputs can be published, regardless of whether they are text, data, code, or anything else, and each steps get a DOI. 

ResearchEquals is 'pay to close', meaning it is free to publish open access, and more restrictive licences require payment. It is a scholar-led project, and further evolution will depend on the community dialogue.
