Registration for Collaborations Workshop 2023 is now open via Eventbrite.

Collaborations Workshop 2023 (CW23) will take place as a hybrid event from Tuesday 2 May–Thursday 4 May 2023 in Manchester, UK.

The Software Sustainability Institute’s Collaborations Workshop series brings together researchers, developers, innovators, managers, funders, publishers, policymakers, leaders and educators to explore best practices and the future of research software.

The theme of the CW23 plenary sessions, discussion groups, mini-workshops, collaborative ideas, and Hack Day will be around Sustainable Career Development for those in the research software community: looking after your software, your career, and yourself. The theme encompasses

  • Technical development: including software sustainability, how to decide what to learn next and where to go for intermediate software development skills.
  • Career development: including career pathways related to research software, how to get credit for your work, mentorship, and inclusive leadership to support teamwork.
  • Personal development: including sustaining your mental health, wellbeing and finding community.

Registration for in-person or remote participation is now open via Eventbrite. Tickets provide access to all plenary presentations, interactive sessions, communication channels, social activities and the Hack Day. By registering for this event, you agree to abide by our Participation Guidelines.

The in-person element of CW23 will take place at the University of Manchester in the Hyatt Regency Manchester hotel (55 Booth Street West, Manchester, England, United Kingdom, M15 6PQ; you can explore the event space here). Hybrid participation will be facilitated using Zoom

The CW23 plenary sessions (such as any keynote talks or panels) will also be broadcasted live via the Institute’s YouTube channel for everyone who is unable to participate in the full programme—no registration required!

Keep an eye on the CW23 website or sign up to receive CW23 updates and the links to the live streams closer to the event.
