A report published this month summarises the discussions and suggestions from the Vive la Différence - Research Software Engineers workshop. 

The purpose of the workshop was to consider how research software engineering (RSE) could be reframed to place diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as a central organising principle. It took place as a hybrid event with an in-person element from 19-22 April 2022 at the Lorentz Centre in the Netherlands; and online events from March-April 2022 across different time zones. The workshop brought together 40 participants from across the globe, including representatives from international RSE communities and others interested in DEI.
