F1000 Research has issued an open call for submissions for their Innovations in Research Assessment collection which aims to bring together articles on innovations in research assessment and evaluation across disciplines and around the world. This collection is part of the Research on Research, Policy & Culture gateway and will be curated by SSI Deputy Director Simon Hettrick and David Moher from the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.

As academic research expands and changes, so do the ways institutions, funders, and publishers evaluate it. Although these methods change across different fields, with some favouring tradition over innovation, it is undeniable that they play a significant role in how academic institutions and funding agencies take key decisions and grant allocation, promotion, tenure, and awards.

Recent developments have shown that researchers produce much more than journal articles and monographs, which means that new evaluation methods need to be developed to assess these other important contributions. If you wish to take part in this process of change, please visit f1000research.com to learn more about the Innovations in Research Assessment collection and the submission process.

The deadline for submitting your contribution is Friday 30 June 2023
