Supercomputing 2025: Call for Abstracts

Supercomputing 2025 logo, black hexagons

Research software engineers (RSEs) are critical to the impact of HPC, data science, and the larger scientific community. RSEs and other roles will come together at Supercomputing 2025 for a workshop that will strengthen international networks of RSEs and RSE leaders. They will share successes and challenges that RSEs and RSE groups have experienced, and discuss ways to increase awareness of RSE opportunities and improve support for RSEs.

You can now submit an abstract for the workshop on topics including, but not limited to:

  1. Career paths: how should RSEs be hired, promoted and evaluated?
  2. Building RSE organisations: how to find RSEs in your country/region and how to motivate them to join the network and engage?
  3. Supporting RSE organisations: what can be done to help RSEs (and those supporting RSEs) at international, national, regional, and local levels?
  4. Making the business case for RSEs and RSE groups: evidence, case studies, tactics
  5. How do we want funders to support RSE roles and activities?
  6. Building in RSE requirements as part of wider research infrastructure
  7. Providing mentoring and training for RSEs
  8. How will RSEs contribute to new technologies such as AI/ML, quantum computing, neuromorphic computing?
