Selina Aragon
Associate Director of Operations
Based in Edinburgh, Selina joined the Institute for Research Software, previously the Software Sustainability Institute, in 2016 as Communications Officer. In 2018, she became the Communications Lead, and in 2020, she founded the Research Software Camps.
In 2023, Selina became Associate Director of Operations and Communications Lead. Her role focuses on optimising day-to-day activities, including streamlining operational processes, improving planning across all our teams, and prioritising staff wellbeing.
Selina holds a BA in English Arts from UNAM (Mexico) and an MSc in Comparative Literature from the University of Edinburgh. She has previously worked for the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics and the School of Engineering, as well as in the publishing sector in Mexico and Scotland.
She loves language teaching (Spanish & English) and is a freelance professional translator and editor. She previously volunteered as a Spanish Social Media Manager and Reviewer at Asymptote, the internationally renowned literary translation journal.
