I am a Computational Scientist working for the Computational Modelling Services (CMS) group within the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS), based at the Dept. of Meteorology at University of Reading. My work largely involves developing, optimising and maintaining open-source Python tools that support research and collaboration in Earth Science, particularly climate modelling. Prior to this role I spent two years as a Scientific Software Engineer at the Met Office where my work had a similar form and aim, following a master's degree in (particle) physics which activated my interest in high performance computing and research software engineering.
