My background is in geoscience, specifically numerical modelling with a focus on the atmosphere and climate. I currently work as a research software engineer (RSE) in the Institute of Computing for Climate Science (ICCS) at the University of Cambridge. I support computational climate research for a range of collaborative research projects across the globe. This includes working with large climate models, development of software tooling, and bringing general sustainability principles to the software. Beyond my immediate work I am active in the RSE community, including organising a weekly seminar series.
