Launched in 2021, SSI Fellow Peter Schmidt’s Code for Thought podcast has become an important space for conversations about research software and the people who make it. In a recent episode, Peter speaks with three of our 2025 SSI Fellows about their motivations, research interests, and what they hope to achieve through the SSI Fellowship Programme.
Meet the Fellows featured in the episode
- Mike Simpson – working on mental health awareness in the research community, including through his ConveRSE project.
- Esther Plomp – exploring reproducibility and open science practices in communities such as The Turing Way.
- Niko Sirmpilatze – developing and applying powerful tools for neuroscience, including DeepLabCut and SLEAP.
