The Software Sustainability Institute is looking for RSEs who wish to become mentors in the volunteer programme, part of our autumn Research Software Camp: Beyond the Spreadsheet. 

All mentee volunteers are new to coding or at a beginner level, but wish to develop their skills. We will pair mentors and mentees according to their language or tools of interest. 

We would ask mentors to commit a maximum of 1 hr every week to walk their mentees through their projects.

About the Research Software Camps

Research Software Camps (#RSCamps) are a series of free online events (taking place at different times throughout the two weeks) and will collate a variety of online resources, ranging from social media campaigns and discussion forums to blog posts and guides all discussing different aspects of the chosen topic. 

All sessions and resources can be accessed freely and they’re aimed at anyone who’s working in research and research software. 

The Research Software Camp: Beyond the Spreadsheet will take place online from the 1-12 November 2021.
