We’re delighted to announce our Research Software Camp: Next steps in coding will run from 16 to 27 May 2022. It will focus on improving computational and training skills in research software and academia. 

We’re excited to bring you foundational software and data skills workshops, as well as workshops around Instructor Training, Intermediate Research Software Skills, and more. We’re also pleased to announce the return of our mentorship programme and the software surgery (previous “code review clinic”). 

As in previous Camps we will host a series of online events (taking place at different times throughout the two weeks) and will collate a variety of online resources, ranging from discussion forums to blog posts and guides discussing different aspects of the chosen topic. All sessions and resources can be accessed freely and they’ll be aimed at anyone who’s working in research and research software.

The Software Sustainability Institute runs free online Research Software Camps twice a year over the course of two weeks. Each Camp focuses on introducing and exploring a topic around research software, to raise awareness of specific issues out there and starting discussions among various research communities.
