UC Berkeley hosts Docathon in March 2017
UC Berkeley is hosting a "Docathon" at the Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS) from 6th to 10th March. A Docathon is an event and week-long mini-sprint to encourage and help people improve documentation in the open science community.
There are a few docathons being held simultaneously, each with their own schedule. At Berkeley there will be a physical presence at BIDS over the week. However, participants can also join remotely; BIDS will coordinate people via email and GitHub.
Who’s this for?
Anyone who is interested in improving the understandability, accessibility, and clarity of software! This might mean developers with a particular project, or individuals who would like to contribute to a project. You don’t need to use a specific language (though there will be many Python and R developers) and you don’t need to be a core developer in order to help out.
Registration
To sign up, visit the Docathon website. You can sign up as a participant, suggest a project to work on, or sign up to host your own remote Docathon wherever you like.
For further information on this event, please visit the BIDS Docathon website.
