Collaborations Workshop 2014 (CW14)

The 2014 Collaborations Workshop (CW14) brought together researchers, software developers, managers, funders and more to explore important ideas in software and research and to plant the seed of interdisciplinary collaborations.

The workshop took place on March 26-28th, 2014, at the Oxford e-Research Centre, and was generously sponsored by Microsoft Research and GitHub. For more information about our sponsors, follow this link. The main theme of the workshop was the role that software plays in reproducible research. This was reflected by a keynote talk and various types of sessions. For a comprehensive overview, please see the agenda or programme details below. The workshop concluded with the CW14 Hackday, which brought together developers and researchers to create solutions to some of the issues that were identified during the workshop.

An advice and best practice article based upon the outcomes of CW14 is available here

CW14 Themes: You shape the agenda

The Collaborations Workshop is an unconference: it consists of breakout discussions about subjects related to software in research, lightning talks and excellent opportunities to network. All attendees are encouraged to email everything.

As a delegate, you can also nominate topics for discussion, which can be anything from a problem specific to your research to an issue that affects the entire research community. Preference will be given to topics related to reproducibility.

If you have any suggestions for topics then do send us an email and we will add them.

The Collaborations Workshop is organised by the Software Sustainability Institute's CW14 events team with the help of the steering committee and generous support from our partner organisations and sponsors.
